12 TIPS FOR MINDFUL HEALTHY EATING PRACTICES

Below we will go over 12 tips for mindful and healthy eating practices!!!

 

1. START WEIGHT LOSS NOW!

No time is better than the present. Start your weight loss program today.

2. SLOW DOWN!!!

Chew your food 25 times before swallowing. Put down your fork in between bites. And don’t forget, it takes twenty minutes for the brain to signal satiety to your stomach. Your often full way before you realize it.

3. TAKE AT LEAST 5 SECONDS AND BREATHE BETWEEN EACH BITE

It makes you reevaluate if you are hungry enough to take the next bite. In addition, it allows your stomach to receive the signal if you are approaching fullness.

4. ASK YOURSELF, “HOW HUNGRY AM I?”

Rate your hunger from 1-10 each time you think about having something to eat

5. PUT EVERYTHING YOU ARE GOING TO EAT ON ONE PLATE

6. PRESENT YOUR FOOD REALLY BEAUTIFULLY

Make your plate pleasurable to the eye also. It will make your experience more enjoyable. Have gratitude towards what you are eating and about the fact that you are fortunate enough to be eating it!

7. ONLY EAT SITTING DOWN

Avoid eating while standing up, walking or standing in front of the refrigerator. This will help with digestion in addition to reducing hunger.

8. DRINK A LARGE GLASS OF WATER BEFORE YOU BEGIN EATING

Take sips of water in between bites. It forces you to slowdown and fills you up with zero calories. By filling your stomach with water, it leaves less physical space to overeat. Sometimes we eat when we are thirsty by confusing thirst with hunger. Having a glass of water eliminates that confusion

9. ENJOY YOUR FOOD!

Close your eyes before you take your first bite. Savor the taste. Try to discern what different flavors make up the dish.

10. EAT ONLY WHAT YOUR BODY IS ASKING FOR

Put healthy foods in line of site, make sure you can see them. Place washed and cut fruits in the front of the refrigerator so they are easily accessible.

11. TRY NEW FOODS

It takes the monotony out of eating the same things over and over again. In addition, your body will absorb the different phytonutrients that are contained in a variety of foods. Eating more nutrients your body needs will help you with long-term weight loss goals.

12. GIVE YOURSELF A BREAK

Don’t be so hard on yourself. Love yourself and love the fact that you are nourishing your body with good healthy foods
